If you are heading out of town and need to leave your pet somewhere, you may find that pet boarding in New Jersey is the right option. However, you want to make sure the boarding facility you choose is capable of caring for your pet just as you would. That means going through your options and picking the quality boarders from those who may not be quite as capable. If you aren’t sure to start, don’t worry. We have a few things you should look for to find the right place for your puppy to stay.
Certifications, Bonding, and Insurance
Accidents can happen. While nobody wants that to happen, it’s important to know the facility is ready for it. This means that the company should be insured and bonded. This gives you peace of mind knowing things are covered if your pet is injured, injured another dog, or damages property at the facility. If this isn’t available, you’ll be responsible for the bill.
Staff Training
There are no regulations nationwide for boarding operations, which means some places will require all staff to be skilled and trained in animal care, and some will hire just about anyone. While not every staff member needs to be highly qualified, they should always have someone on staff to handle situations that come up requiring expertise. Every member of the staff should at least have some basic canine first aid training.
Required Vaccinations
You can never be too careful when considering the health of your beloved pet, which is why you should only choose a kennel that requires vaccinations. This ensures all of the other pets are up to date on shots and your pet won’t come down with anything. Make sure vaccinations are required and proper checks, are carried out on every visiting pooch.
Reasonable Exercise Area
A great company offering pet boarding in New Jersey will make sure all dogs are given plenty of exercise time. In some cases, the kennel might have its outdoor areas. In others, there may be a larger area for multiple dogs to play and exercise. In either case, make sure the exercise plan is appropriate for your dog.
Now that you know what to look for in a quality facility, you can start searching for the right one for you. At K9 Resorts of Horsham PA, we offer luxury boarding for your special pet.
