2 Person Backpacking – Having the Room You Need

by | Mar 17, 2016 | Canopies

Backpacking is something many people enjoy? What’s so great about carrying a backpack halfway around the world, getting to meet people and experiencing things in the outdoors you never have before?

If you haven’t been backpacking yet, or if you are an avid backpacker then you know that when you’re travelling you’ll probably see something new every day and you’re likely to meet someone new people along the way as well.

Start Camping Again
Buying a tent is a lot like buying your gear for college. You need compact and efficient but also rugged so that it is durable.

Most campers want a 2 person backpacking tent with room to stretch out. Having a backpacking tent that accommodates 2 people gives you a more airy feeling. Imagine having to be hunkered down in storm; the less cramped you feel, the better off you are.

Easy Up, Easy Down
When you’re backpacking, you need a tent that is lightweight, easy to put up and can pack down small. If you’re going backpacking, your three bulkiest items will be your pack itself, your sleeping bag and your shelter. So it makes sense to invest in a decent lightweight and compact tent.

Backpacking Hint
Whether this is your first time or you are an avid backpacker, you know you should always carry a map and compass and learn how to use them. GPS devices, including cell phones can accompany a map and compass, but remember, they don’t replace them. While battery powered devices are a convenience when hiking, you can’t rely on them. GPS devices are power hogs and you don’t want to be stuck with dead batteries and no idea where you are or how to get to safety.

Hiking
So, if you enjoy hiking and are really looking forward to your next trip, make sure you have the right equipment ready at the helm. You don’t want to be underprepared. A backpacking tent that provides adequate room is essential.

So when it’s time for your hiking trip, get out your 2 person backpacking tent, get your gear together and get packing.
