The History of Natural Cognitive Enhancers

by | Mar 16, 2017 | Healthcare

With smart drugs becoming more and more of a common sight at work or school, there’s no denying the fact that a lot of people want to get smarter to get ahead. Given the growing popularity of pharmaceutical and natural cognitive enhancers, it’s interesting to see how these enhancers came to be in the first place:

Modafinil in the 70s

One of the earliest known cognitive enhancers around was Modafinil. It was developed in the late 70s and was sold to the mass market. That is, until they found out how well it worked for narcoleptics. That’s when it skyrocketed to success.

The DSM-IIII Revision

Despite the success of Modafinil, plenty of ADHD drugs weren’t popular in use in the U.S. That changed in 1987, when the American Psychological Association changed their definition of ADHD drugs in the DSM-III revision, says Healthline. By grouping together many symptoms seen in ADHD, ADD and other related cognitive conditions and disorders, not only did many other conditions come to light, it also brought the use of these enhancers to a bigger market.

The market today

These days, the market for smart drugs and supplements has grown and it shows no signs of stopping any time soon. If you want to get ahead, if you want to get your business to the top, all while the competition is sleeping, then you might want to take a closer look at natural cognitive enhancers.

What to go for

First off, decide on whether you need these enhancers for the long-term or for only a period of time, whether to increase your output for a project or a short-term assignment. Then do your research to find out which options fit the bill. Don’t forget to check online for positive and helpful reviews since these could give you handy leads on which suppliers to call.
