An elevator helps provide easy access to the various floors of a building, and while most operate safely and reliably for years, there are times when issues arise and require the expertise of a trained technician. Ignoring issues can lead to significant safety hazards, and cause those using an elevator to become stuck or injured. Don’t let an elevator become a liability when Elevator Technologies Inc in Arlington VA can help by providing the following repair services quickly and for an affordable price.
Brake System Malfunctions
The braking system of an elevator serves two critical roles. It is designed to stop the car as it travels between floors, and it also provides extra protection by stopping the car if a cable break occurs and sends the elevator flying down the shaft. The breaking system will need repair with time and should be inspected if the elevator starts functioning unpredictably.
Hydraulic Motor Repair
Most elevators are powered by a hydraulic motor that is used to lift the car quickly and lower it gently. If the engine becomes damaged or stops functioning, it could be a result of low hydraulic fluid levels or an issue with the machines transmission components. A technician will be able to inspect the motor and determine the cause of the problem, and repair or replace the motor to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Programming Issues
As with most electronic devices, an elevator is controlled by a computer that signals when a person is waiting for a car and determines when to stop to release passengers on an intended floor. If the computer stops functioning or the programming becomes lost, it will cause the elevator to stop working. A repair company can reprogram the elevators electronic components and ensure it is operating as intended, and many companies can also install a backup device to ensure that a future computer crash won’t affect the operation of the lift.
