The Jeep Compass first became a part of the Jeep line in 2007. A five-seater crossover, it is available in three primary trim levels. These are:
1. Sport
2. Latitude
3. Limited
There are also sub-trim levels. Along with the High Altitude, there is the very popular Trailhawk, a sub-trim of the Sport classification.
Going Off-Road
The Jeep Compass in Andover KS is attractive both inside and out. Although all Compasses have off-road capabilities, the Trailhawk is this trim’s exemplification of the Jeep image. While it can negotiate the streets of Andover KS, it is far better suited to going off-trail.
The Trailhawk is better suited to taking the trail least traveled. It is packed with the technology and means of doing so. The set of technological systems includes:
• 8.5 inches of ground clearance
• Two tow hooks
• Skid plates
• Falken Wildpeak tires
Of particular importance is the Selec-Terrain management system. It has settings for Auto, Snow, Sand, and Mud and buttons that govern other off-road capabilities. These are the 4WD Low/crawl mode, the 4WD Lock and hill-descent.
Like all Compasses, the Trailhawk has an 80-hp 2.4-liter inline-four. However, this is always paired with a nine-speed automatic with a driver-selectable all-wheel-drive system.
The 2022 Jeep Compass Trailhawk
The Jeep Compass was launched in 2022 with a host of upgrades. In addition to the exterior and interior appearance, the company improved such basics as suspension and pumped up the capabilities of the infotainment system. It is a very attractive vehicle and the Trailhawk trim was made for off-road adventures.
