5 Tips on Finding a Car Hire

So you’ve just landed and you want to go around in comfort, style and convenience. There’s no better way to do it than to look for a car hire in Costa Rica and drive yourself around. Here are a few tips on how to a good one:

Pick a good car

Be wise about the make and model of the car you pick. If you have kids in tow, make sure you get a roomy rental. Want to save on costs? Go for the smallest one they have.

Ask about the stick

Don’t know the first clue on how to drive a stick shift? No worries. Just book a car with an automatic transmission, the Independent Traveler says.

Look for extras

Want to ski? Need a car seat or want a GPS system handy? Then talk to the company and find out if they offer them. If they don’t, you could always look around for other companies offering car hire in Costa Rica. With plenty of options around, finding one shouldn’t be too hard.

Book early

Don’t wait until the eleventh hour to book your ride. Car rental companies are often booked months in advance. Also, if you book at the last minute, you won’t be able to take advantage of early bird freebies and discounts. So save yourself the stress and expense. Call and book months ahead.

Join a loyalty program

Another excellent way to slash some off your total car rental costs is to look for a loyalty program to join. If you frequently take trips, whether for business or leisure, in Costa Rica, then it’s a good idea to invest in a loyalty membership. That would mean greater discounts and deals for you.

So don’t be at the mercy of cabs and local transportation. Get around in comfort and convenience with a car rental.
